JOY of Giving Week is now DAAN UTSAV – and Hope Kolkata Foundation is again volunteering to help this annual festival of giving growing since inception, especially in Kolkata.
Since it began in 2009, the only thing that has restricted further growth of Joy of Giving Week is its name, restricted itself within the English speaking boundaries of India. This year, as volunteers started the procedure to take the festival to rural India, a name change which will entice the rural India’s interest became essential – and after much after long and careful consideration and discussion have chosen DAAN UTSAV.
It is a unique “festival of philanthropy” which has a core purpose to bring people from all society together to draw participation in acts of giving —money, clothing, stationary anything which can be added the value to the needy and underprivileged. This festival is conducted all over India from 2nd October till 8th October. Renowned celebrities from all walks of life e.g:- the World of cinema, music, dance, sports, education and corporate industry & etc have promised their support to this initiative and would be organize the same.
Last year, there were many events in Kolkata where the Wish Tree, planted in several offices, schools, hotels and malls across the city, was the biggest fundraiser for NGOs who collectively raised money.
This year we are planning to surmount the number of givers – they could give money, gifts, time or skills. Hope Kolkata Foundation will be having a Daan Utsav meet on 29th september at ITC Hotel, Kolkata where several Corporates & Celebrities are invited to encourage the extensive participation across Kolkata. There are dozens of renowned schools will be present at the meet to make the event successful and they are all set to organize various activities to celebrate Daan Utsav in Kolkata.
